If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen me post about theSakara Life meal programs and products. Before taking the plunge, I had been wanting to try Sakara for years. I knew that they had a cult following, a perfectly curated Instagram, and 2 stunning founders, so I was so excited to see what all the fuss was about.

At this point I’ve done many weeks of their meal programs and have tried most of their products, so here is my experience and Sakara Life honest review.

Sakara Life – What To Expect

The first thing that really stuck out to me and I continue to love about Sakara Life is the attention to detail in this plan, and not just with the meals. There’s so much helpful information that comes along, as well as add-ons like detox tea, energy bar, etc. You can really sense the TLC that went into making this program, and that makes it that much more enjoyable. I’m also a sucker for good branding.

Deliveries arrive on Sunday evening/night (and then again on Wednesday if you’re doing the 5-day program). The meals come packed nicely in a box with cold packs. Each meal is labeled with which day/meal it is, ingredients, and how to prepare.

The Meals

I must say, the first time I tried Sakara I was actually shocked at how much I loved the food, and also how FILLING it was. I’ve tried a lot of meal delivery programs, and most of them would leave me hungry within an hour or two. The Sakara portions are huge – most meals coming with a massive salad on the “side” – and I rarely find myself needing to snack in between.

All of the meals are 100% organic, gluten-free and plant-based. To be completely transparent, although I find the meals incredibly delicious I must also admit that I naturally love the taste/texture of vegan (or what some might call “hippie dippy”) food. So please keep that in mind if you’re someone who doesn’t.

The menu changes every week so there is always a lot of variety among the meals. Orders for the following week must be placed by midnight on Thursdays.

For more of a look at the meals you can check out my “Sakara” Instagram Story highlights.

Why I’m such a fan of Sakara Life

  1. The convenience. When I have a week where work is particularly busy or I’m gearing up to go out of town, it’s so helpful to have my meals already prepared and ready to eat within minutes.
  2. It makes me feel amazing. Although I’m not strictly vegan, I love the opportunity to eat 100% plant-based (and gluten-free). The Sakara meals make it so easy to not only eat tons of plants, but actually love it too. Even after 1 day of a Sakara meal program I find myself with more energy and less bloat.
  3. I love the community. Sakara Life has become more than just a program – I love how the brand empowers women to embrace healthy living without calorie restricting/counting anything and living life to the fullest! I also love engaging with other women who use Sakara on Instagram, Facebook, etc.

The Cost

I’m not going to sugarcoat it: yes, Sakara can be pricey. But, as with everything in life, it comes down to what you value and prioritize at any given time. If you’re in a place where you’re particularly busy, want nourishing meals without the guesswork, or you just value your health & time enough that it’s worth the investment, I believe Sakara is a great option.

I think it’s important to also look at what you GET out of the program rather than just the cost. For me – the delicious, healthy, convenient meals paired with the community of badass likeminded women and so many other benefits – is entirely worth the investment whether it’s every few weeks or months.

More practically speaking:

  1. You can customize how many days & meals you get. You can choose a 3-day plan or 5-day plan but you can also get anywhere from 1-3 meals per day. My go-to is usually 3 days of 2 meals (6 meals total, which I spread throughout the week however I want).
  2. Sign up for the Sakara newsletter because they’re often offering special deals & discounts.
  3. Get 20% off your first order with code GRACIESAKARA
